you should know:
Networking requires commitment. Founded in January 1985 by
Ivan R. Misner, President of Business Networks International, Inc.,
the Business Network provides a positive, supportive, and structured
environment for men and women to further their business by getting
referrals.
The must successful chapters of the Business
Network are comprised of participants who are sincerely committed
to helping one another through networking. They are a team.
As a participant in the Business Network, you are responsible for
complying with the policies *. A partial list of
the policies of the Business Network are:
- The
meeting begins promptly at 7:00 A.M. and is over at 8:30 A.M.
- Only one person from each professional
classification or specialty is permitted to join a chapter
of the Business Network.
- All
participants should represent their primary occupation,
not a part-time business.
- Attendance
is critical. Participants are allowed three absences every
six months (to coincide with the officers' terms, April through
September and October through March). More than this and they
are subject to removal
- Participation in the Chapter by members is a
key to the success of the group. Members can participate by bringing
bona-fide referrals and/or visitors to their BNI chapter.
* In the event that BNI's general rules could
potentially violate a professional ethical code, the professional's
ethics' code shall govern.
