Word-of-Mouth
Advertising
A
Powerful Marketing Tool
How can Word-of-Mouth help you?
- Join at least three local business
networking groups in the next three months. Some suggestions:
chambers of commerce, professional groups and community service
organizations such as Rotary International, Optimists International,
Kiwanis and Lions.
- Take an active role in membership
organizations. Sign up for committees and volunteer your services
at events.
- Bring products, samples or brochures
to networking events. People who are familiar with your product
or service are more likely to recommend it.
- When exchanging business cards,
take a few moments to flip the card over and write a few words
that will help you remember the person.
- If you want others to refer business
to you, refer business to them.
- Make contact with people outside
business meetings as much as possible. Send notes, letters or
articles that might be of interest to your contacts. Invite them
to business events.
- Develop a 60-second message about
your business that explains what you do. Include a brief, catchy
phrase that vividly describes what you do.
